I would recommend MD and RDN to refer patients to Marina, especially pancreatic insufficiency, bariatric surgeries, GI surgeries
“I know Marina from her inpatient clinical dietitian job at Hoag Newport. She is very sound in clinical nutrition. Some of her expertise includes weight management, heart disease, diabetes, bariatric surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, pancreatic insufficiency. I heard her talk on pancreatic insufficiency at the CA Academy annual conference and it was phenomenal. I’ve also heard from patients how they improved after consulting Marina. I would recommend MD and RDN to refer patients to Marina, especially pancreatic insufficiency, bariatric surgeries, GI surgeries etc.”

I had to start a plant based lifestyle and I was very confused on many aspects of this.
“I was lucky enough to be referred to Marina through a dietician at Hoag Hospitial. I had to start a plant based lifestyle and I was very confused on many aspects of this. I spoke with Marina and she was able to help me navigate this so much better. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, and she really cares about your health. As I continue to work with Marina, I am learning so much and I highly recommend her.”

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a food and nutrition expert. They can also be referred to as Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN). A Registered Dietitian provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and nutritional counseling. An RD can help treat illnesses with medical nutrition therapy. Furthermore, RD can guide a lifestyle to prevent chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension, by providing medical nutrition therapy.
Anyone with a passion for food can refer to themselves as a nutritionist. Nutritionists can’t report back to your doctor, can’t recommend blood work, and may not be aware of the details of your medical condition. And, they aren’t qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy for medical conditions.
